10 THINGS ABOUT SUCCESS | I WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOWN BEFORE CHASING IT

you are successful in life if you know how to walk with joy through hell

Don’t become a slave of somebody’s idea, have your own, that’s success

What is meaning of Success?

To answer this question imagine you are alumni standing in front of your juniors, and you need to answer the success story of yours.

Take your time and ask an honest question to yourself what you will say, no sugarcoating. Is it numbers in your bank account? , Is it fame? , Is it how big a vehicle or property you own?……

Confusing Isn’t it, but no rush this article will cover all the things and myths of success, just stick to it and find out your definition of success.

1. Is Success all about money?

Well money is something which cannot be ignored hospital bills, owning a car, paying your rent, daily domestic essentials, groceries, education, lifestyle everything money take care.

But wait, ask the below questions to yourself and have an honest opinion to track your success roadmap:

  1. Is money the only thing that gives me organic happiness?
  2. Is money the only thing that I work hard for?
  3. Was money the only thing in my childhood dreams?
  4. Can money justify my emotions?
  5. Can money buy my kindness and honesty?

Please ask these questions when you are with yourself or you fail miserably as honesty comes when you fail without any sugarcoating to your emotions.

Ultimately Money is materialistic and temporary happiness served to human beings. For example, when in childhood as a lad one can buy the whole world with just 10 bucks, in college dimensions increases, and as adult age and earning man limitations keeps on increasing and there is no full stop for this illusion.

Money is numbers and numbers never end. If it takes money to be happy, your search for happiness will never end    – Bob Marley

2. Is Success all about fame?

It’s very tough to see that nowadays we have created such a superficial world where everyone is in the race of getting famous and known in their territory.

Unfortunately, this trend is indirectly inherited from our schooldays where a lad with good grades, god background, and class leader will have maximum followers and thus will have more friends.

The irony is we don’t want friends we want followers. The pressure of getting into this trap of fame we inherit jealousy, anger, pain, conflicts, and confrontation which disturb the internal harmony and there is no peace.

Once try to be hidden from the dimension of the illusionary world and be in the background appreciating others, listening to the voice, helping others, you will find your way to success.

3. True traces of Success lies in the satisfaction

At the end of the day when you go to bed are you satisfied with your day? Are you doing what you wanted? Every morning are you excited? or your dreams are buried under your responsibilities?

If not why you are doing it? It’s not about energy ultimately it’s about crucial time which you are wasting. The worst possible experience is going directionless slowly which creates a void of incompetence ultimately which makes you part of the average crowd.

Hey! hold on a sec I am not asking you to quit your job and ignore your responsibilities but you can at least engage your self in doing what you love every day after your shift and in the weekends. It will not make you rich and famous but you will be satisfied with your efforts. If you master at it after a while you can switch towards it permanently.

Satisfaction is a key to success, if you are satisfied with what you are doing then it’s a success. Need should never be converted to greed. Be happy be in peace. You can find a billionaire not able to sleep the entire night with the best facilities but you can see a poor man sleeping happily under a lampost having bread. It’s just a difference in satisfaction.

Success is a parameter judged by others, satisfaction is a treat given to our soul.

4. Stop comparison: Success is different to different people

Human beings are obsessed with a constant state of comparison and slowly and gradually people are trapped in this unnoticed sweet poison which lands them at the wrong junction filled with anxiety, stress, and internal conflict.

Especially in our Indian society, people’s success is justified with their property, power, and background. Why every student has to be good at mathematics? Why every man has to earn more than the person next door? Why he/she should be married at a fixed age? Why one has to buy the latest smartphone if there are other cheaper options?

Comparison drain out one’s self-esteem, self-confidence person becomes over conscious and overthinking and slowly accept that he/she is worthless if doesn’t manage to match the shoulder parallel to the standard benchmark in society.

The person working in the fields for him the success is to grow the seasonal crop and harvest it but the person flying the airplane his success is to make the passenger’s journey safe.

They both are successful in their zone of serving the people with their service. How much they earn or how famous are they don’t matter. They are happy doing it and they are successful.

Don’t be a slave of somebody’s idea, have your own idea.

5. Break the rule: There is no age for success

This is a crucial point which needs everyone attention, I have heard many people complaining that after 30 one cannot opt for a government job, after having the first baby cannot keep themself fit, cannot do their hobbies or passion parallel to their job blah…blah…blah! everything’s shit.

Most of the successful people find their masterstroke idea at half of their age.Human beings have the strongest potential to achieve anything whatever they want only true determination is required, you find me joking below is the answer:

  1. Anne Frank: A 12-year girl who started writing her diary during world war II on persecution and the holocaust during Nazi occupation after her demise at 15 later her diary was translated in more than 60 languages into the famous book The Diary of a Young Girl .
  2. Leonardo da Vinci: Whose masterpiece Mona Lisa was published when he was in the 50s.
  3. Nelson Mandela: Who became president of South Africa at 75 after a long struggle.
  4. Colonel Sanders: He started his franchise KFC at the age of 61.

The list is endless but so are everyone’s excuses. The fact is there is only one life. Be mentally strong, keep count on your progress, and be the change you want. If you cannot join the job which you wanted due to age limitation well create that job by yourself who stopped you.

6. Have a plan: Success is giving direction to your life

More than 80% of people don’t know exactly where they want to sail the ship. It’s so strange that the captain of the ship is clueless.

In our Indian society, it’s very common practice to opt for science if the majority is going towards it, it’s common to opt for engineering if everyone is doing and till then people get this tendency to stay with a safe job and just do what the crowd is doing.

Success is all about having a planned roadmap that guides you every day, if you get up from the bed you should know what you have in your bucket list.

Break your goals in smaller chunks by breaking the bread technique, for each chunk have proper planning, and accomplish it in a given time. Track your growth and have control of your life in your hand.

Learn from your mistakes and implement them in further chunks. Make your navigation towards destiny more beautiful and success is all yours.

7. Success is following your passion: Enjoy the process

Nothing is amazing than having a dream and following madly towards it. First, know your passion, passion is not what you do after seeing someone but it should come from inside your mind and guts.

If you are not sure about your passion take your time, try different things, come out of your comfort zone and once you get it just stick to it. You should be kind enough to give extra hours to your dream after your day shift, cut down social life if necessary. Everything secondary can wait but not time, the clock is ticking round o’clock.

The SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk has a crazy work schedule on an average 80-90 hours a week, if necessary he gives 120 hours a week, someday sleep in his office, and proudly follows his passion for transforming the world as a savior. For me, he is the man of the century.

While working in your dream one pushes his boundaries, dare to take challenges, and at the end win or lose it’s doesn’t matter the dopamine of the process is enough to justify success.

The worst thing which can happen to anyone is to let their dreams die inside.

8. Spending time with you and your family is success

Having a balanced personal and professional life, a good relationship with peers and family members, spending some time for a hobby, or with a pet makes our journey filled with happiness and joy.

Family is the strongest backbone a person can have in life which will stand for you when the whole world is against you. Family is the ultimate motivation for which a person step out and fight for existence.

It doesn’t matter how much money you make, how much hard work you do to earn, but if you fail to make your self at the dining table end of the day with your family you are just here to do business.

Every day try to spend some time with your parents, wife, or children if get a chance to take them out. Get your aging parent’s daily health checkup, be with them when they need you. Just don’t let that extra income thing keeps you away from them.

9. Learning, exploring, and adding values to other life is Success

The hunger to learn and implement is the drive behind every successful man. Success is not something that can be achieved overnight or in a single year it takes blood and sweat.

The best part of success is to share it with the world. Whatever knowledge, wisdom, resources you have, if you invest them in transforming and adding values to other life, is a true success that gives immense pleasure. It’s not a duty it’s a responsibility.

Why TATA Group is so successful? Is it their turn over? Is it their stock market shares? Nope it’s the value they are adding to their country and it’s people.

Just go the extra mile, if you are an engineer or health care, volunteer yourself, and step out to solve the problems in your locality. If you are on vacation can start free coaching and educate the needful.

10. Keep fighting: Breathing life till the last moment is success

I would like to take this point on a serious note. India is one of the top countries in suicide. As per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) in India every day 381 cases an average of 1,39,123 fatalities annually is reported.

Suicide rates are higher in the age group of 15-29 and the middle age group. Problems like family issues, marriage issues, relationship failure issues, and overburden on students are on top.

Society must come forward to accept such delicate issues with an open mind and accept that everyone has their own way of living life. Please be kind and respectful to everyone because life is only once. Live for your family, live for your dreams, live for the needy, keep fighting!
